My mall experience…reviews. @EXPRESS, @BananaRepublic, @OldNavy

Well this isn’t the kind of thing I normally wear, but I had high hopes for this top from Express.

On the tall model, the sequined hearts sit high on the chest. On a petite, however, they unfortunately sit at nipple level. Too much like wearing pasties for me! Good try, Express. I really, really wish this brand would start carrying petites.

I had better luck at Banana Republic, where I finally took the plunge and picked up a pair of Sloan ankle pants.

I wanted gray. However, gray is only available online in my size, and would not be shipped until March! So I went with black. Note: I usually wear a 0P in BR pants (and a 00P in BR jeans); however, in the Sloan fit, I wear a 2P!! I have never bought a size 2P before. So far, I really like the pants. However…

I also recently ordered a pair of Old Navy Pixie ankle pants in black.

They are much cheaper than the BR version. Stay tuned for a comparison post and find out which pair will be kept, and which pair returned!

A conservative dresser

I’ve always dressed pretty conservatively, mostly because, as a petite, it is sometimes hard to find clothes that really fit correctly, and tailoring gets expensive! It has really just been within the past few years that I’ve been trying to make my outfits more flattering, fun, and interesting. An easy way to do this is by effective accessorizing. Yesterday I just got a couple of new items that I think are both fun and interesting!

First is this silver leaf pendant from World Market. I’d been eyeing it for a couple of months, and finally figured, at only $14.99, why not go for it?

The second is this pair of silver strappy wedges by New York Transit, purchased from DSW.com. I bought them to wear to a wedding, but I’m hoping to wear them with other things as well.

I’d ordered some other wedding shoe possibilities along with the wedges, and now I have to go return them at DSW. Might do a little more shoe shopping while I’m there…
